What is the Sucker Rod?

Sucker rod is a steel rod, generally between 7 to 9 m in length and threaded at both ends. The sucker rods are typically used in the oil industry to join together the surface and down hole assembly components of a reciprocating piston pump installed in an oil well. Moreover, the sucker rod is the thin rod of pumping wells, the polished rod is on it and the pump is under it, and acts transmission power between polished rod and pump.
